Gender Justice is honored to be a recipient of a 2016 Lavender Community Award! Each year, Lavender Magazine presents these awards based on online nominations and voting by the readers. As the magazine explains, "Winners demonstrate clear dedication and leadership by being either out or an ally and working for the advancement of the community that is comprised of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and allied people." Although we do not do it for the recognition, we are grateful that our work litigating, advocating, and educating on gender issues is having an impact both for our clients and our broader community.

Gender Justice is thrilled to be recognized in this way, and we are in great company! Other 2016 recipients are Ryan Berg, Avenues for Homeless Youth and RECLAIM!; artist, organizer, and "queer leather geek" Andrew Bertke; actor/artist Hector Chavarria; outreach organization Gay For Good Twin Cities; Grant Meidal, Fathers' Group MN; HIV/AIDS activist Chuck Peterson; and Minnesota Lynx head coach and fierce women's equality advocate Cheryl Reeve. We could not be more proud to be part of this community, both awardees and all those we seek to serve.

Thank you to all who have supported us and stand with us moving forward. We will continue to fight for everyone who is marginalized due to their gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression!
