Thank you to everyone who attended our recent briefing regarding our new lawsuit on behalf of three North Dakota families and a pediatrician to block North Dakota’s ban on essential healthcare for transgender youth.

Gender Justice Brunch (and Livestream!) Oct 15

Tickets for The Gender Justice Brunch: A Conversation with Melissa Murray on October 15 are sold out, but we have a waitlist available for the in-person event!

And we still have tickets available for the livestream of the event!

You can tune in on October 15 at 12:00pm noon for the livestream conversation with Melissa Murray, legal analyst for MSNBC and co-host of the popular Supreme Court podcast Strict Scrutiny. Melissa is one of the nation’s leading experts on women’s rights, reproductive rights and justice, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

For those in the legal community, CLE (continuing legal education) credit is available.

Welcoming new team members to Gender Justice!

Gabbi Pierce, Communications Manager: Gabbi Pierce brings an extensive background of movement, non-profit, and community based work. As a queer trans woman, she strives toward uplifting gender oppressed voices and struggles, and believes firmly that collective action has the power to motivate substantial change.

Jamie Smith, Saeks Public Interest Legal Fellow: Jamie is passionate about making Minnesota a more equitable place for everyone. Before Gender Justice, they worked at Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services Mankato and at University of Minnesota Law School clinics, serving low-income Minnesotans in need of legal assistance.

Lisa Gulya, Research and Advocacy Specialist: Lisa Gulya joins Gender Justice through the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) Leading Edge Fellowship to apply her skills as a social scientist to advancing gender equity, reproductive justice, and LGBTQ youth well-being.

Lisa previously taught sociology and public affairs at Macalester College and the University of Minnesota, including courses on childhood, sexuality, and qualitative research methods.
