This year, more than one hundred abortion restrictions have been signed into law in nineteen states. It was a similarly dismal year for transgender youth, who also saw a record number of bills passed by state legislatures eager to curtail their rights and erase them from public life.
At Gender Justice, we are rising to these challenges.
We’re in the courts fighting to remove medically-irrelevant restrictions that keep abortion care out of reach for many Minnesotans. We’re at the Capitol supporting the newly-formed Reproductive Freedom Caucus in its work to expand abortion access via the legislature. We’re launching campaigns to educate transgender youth, their families, and their schools about transgender students’ rights at school. And so much more.
We have big fights on our hands, and we need you to help lead our organization into this critical era in the struggle for body autonomy and gender equity.
We are seeking 2-4 new board members to join our stellar Board of Directors. The volunteer board provides fiduciary oversight of our organization, mission-based leadership, strategic governance, and advice to the Executive Director.
Board membership is a great way to build community with other folks fighting for gender equity!
