Continuing RBG’s Legacy

Continuing RBG’s Legacy

Following the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Gender Justice joined in community to honor the life and legacy of Justice Ginsburg’s trailblazing fight for gender equity. We want to thank all of the speakers, musicians, and attendees who joined us in person at Boom Island as well as the thousands of you who watched the live broadcast on Facebook.

If you were unable to join us, you can still watch the stream here on our Facebook page.

At the gathering, we told you we’d follow up with action items. Here’s your first one:

Contact your Senator to tell them we need a Supreme Court Justice who will advance gender equity and defend our right to reproductive health care access, equal treatment in the workplace, and our right to love who we love without fear or shame.

Our human dignity is at stake with this nomination, and our Senators need to hear from us to know exactly how high those stakes are. The Senate sets the schedule and procedures for Supreme Court confirmations, and we need to make sure they hear from as many people as possible before they move forward.

We’ve made it easy for you to send your Senators an email.

Personalize your message as you wish, and know that these don’t just disappear into the administrative void – Senate offices keep track of who contacts them, and sustained contact from constituents makes a real difference!

I know the loss of Justice Ginsburg weighs heavy on all of our hearts. In our toughest moments, what matters is that we show up for one another and we each do our part.

Take one minute to be a part of protecting RBG’s legacy today.
