The Anoka-Hennepin School District is once against charged with violating the constitutional and civil rights of LGBTQ students. In a new lawsuit filed Monday morning in Minnesota's Tenth District Court, Gender Justice, the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota and the law firm Stinson Leonard Street, working pro bono, asserted that Anoka-Hennepin School District violated the state Constitution's right to due process and equal protection and the Minnesota Human Rights Act by treating transgender student N.H. differently than other students and failing to provide him with an equal education.

Transgender Military Ban Is Cruel and Unconstitutional
(St. Paul, Minn.) Earlier today, the Supreme Court lifted the injunction against the Trump administration’s ban on transgender people serving in the military, allowing the ban to be enforced while legal challenges continue.
The following statement is from Gender Justice Executive Director Megan Peterson:
“This ban is only the latest attempt by the Trump administration to dehumanize and discriminate against transgender people - this time by targeting members of our military. Even in the face of this administration’s cruelty and contempt, transgender people enlist at far higher rates than the general population, and serve honorably in every branch of the armed services. As many as 15,000 service members could be affected by the transgender ban, causing unnecessary harm and disruption throughout the ranks. Rejecting these brave, qualified people from military service is not only lousy policy, it is unconstitutional.”
