Gender Justice applauds the historic appointment of Ruth Richardson as the new CEO of Planned Parenthood North Central States (PPNCS).

Ruth has been a tireless advocate for reproductive justice as a Minnesota State Representative, the chair of the Black Maternal Health caucus, lawyer, and healthcare CEO. In this critical moment for abortion access in our country, Ruth Richardson is the leader our movement needs to continue to expand reproductive health access to everyone who needs care in Minnesota and our region.

Get to Know Ruth Richardson Ruth previously served as CEO of Wayside Recovery Center, a non-profit health care organization that provides mental health and addiction treatment, throughout skyrocketing demand for services during the pandemic. She has served in the Minnesota House for four years, where she passed a number of bipartisan reproductive justice bills. She’s a lawyer, a health equity champion, and a trailblazer. We’re in a new era for abortion rights. Ruth will tackle the challenges of the new sexual and reproductive health landscape head on. Together, we’re never backing down.
