Connecting our work and community
August 25, 2023
The attacks on bodily autonomy taking place around the country are connected. The attacks come from the same people, with the same playbook, who want one thing: control.
But we are ready to fight back and our team is making new connections for the work ahead.
The effects of what happens across the country touch Minnesotans daily. Friends, families, and neighbors from all over the U.S. need access to reproductive healthcare and gender-affirming care.
Our team met recently in Bismarck, North Dakota to connect with folks on the ground and strategize for the work ahead. Some of Gender Justice’s earlier work took us to North Dakota, and we look forward to expanding our advocacy there in the coming weeks and months.
Welcome Christina Sambor, North Dakota State Director!
We are thrilled to have Christina Sambor on the team as North Dakota State Director, where she is working to promote gender equity and protect the rights of North Dakotans.
Prior to joining Gender Justice, she owned and operated her own law firm, focusing on family law, employment law, civil rights, and legislative advocacy. Christina has lobbied at the North Dakota State Legislature since 2015, advocating for vulnerable youth, victims of trafficking and domestic violence, unhoused individuals and the LGBTQ+ community.
Welcome, Christina!
New Resources Available for Pregnant and Pumping Employees at Work
Pregnant and nursing people deserve the ability to participate in the workforce to support themselves and their families without risking their health and safety.
With new changes in place after the 2023 legislative session, our team expanded our information and resources for pregnant and pumping employees to know their rights and advocate for access to necessary resources and accommodations.
